IPL is a dermatological procedure that has been around since the 90’s.  This FDA Cleared device uses light and heat to target the melanin (brown spots) and hemoglobin (red spots or small blood vessels). It can also be used to reduce the bacteria and redness that is caused with Acne.  IPL can treat a myriad of different issues and is great as a combination treatment with other devices.

The entire reason Oasis Eye Care has a Med Spa is for the IPL because of its amazing effect on Dry Eye Disease.  It targets the inflammatory process within the disease to decrease symptoms and even the need for medication drops like Restasis, Xiidra and Cequa.

IPL is also great to improve the overall tone of the skin by reducing brown spots and red spots that occur.  It can treat Rosacea by eliminating the blood vessels. IPL can give you hair reduction as long as the hair has a dark color to it.

The downtime will depend on the particular treatment that you have.  Most patients will have a sensation and look of a sunburn from anywhere to 1-3 days.  Combination treatments will be slightly longer.
